You've Been Strong
for So Long.

Expressive Arts Therapy gives you permission to rest.

You've been surviving. Holding everything together. Showing up while carrying invisible pain.

Maybe talk therapy feels overwhelming. Maybe words fail when emotions feel too heavy. Maybe your body remembers trauma even when your mind tries to forget.

Expressive Arts Therapy meets you where you are. It allows your emotions to regulate through color, texture, sound and movement — releasing what's been stored in your nervous system for years.

You don't need to be creative. You don't need to be perfect.
You just need space to breathe and be seen.

Practice Foundations

01 Strength-Based Practice

I believe individuals and communities already carry wisdom, resilience, and creative capacity within them. My role is to support clients in recognizing and building upon these existing strengths through the expressive arts process.

02 Culturally Responsive Engagement

My work is grounded in cultural awareness, humility, and relevance. I create spaces where lived experiences—particularly those of Black women and diverse communities—are respected, affirmed, and meaningfully integrated into the creative process.

03 Person-Centered Exploration

Each person's creative journey is unique. I take a person-centered and customized approach, allowing the needs, interests, and goals of each client or group to shape how we engage with the arts.

04 Trauma-Informed Creative Practice

Safety, consent, and care are central to my work. Using a trauma-informed lens, expressive arts are offered as a gentle and empowering pathway for reflection, self-awareness, and personal insight.

05 Co-Regulation and Self-Regulation

Creative processes can support both co-regulation and self-regulation, helping individuals become more aware of their emotional and embodied responses. Through guided expressive arts experiences, I support participants in discovering creative ways to settle, center, and reconnect with their inner resources.

06 Empathy, Discovery, and Restoration

At the heart of my work is the belief that empathy is a vital life skill that allows us to deepen our understanding of ourselves and others. Through creative exploration, participants are invited into processes of discovery and restoration, where reflection, imagination, and artistic expression open pathways toward renewed perspective and personal meaning.

My Approach

My therapeutic arts practice is strength-based and person-centered, informed by feminist and trauma-informed frameworks that honour lived experience. Through expressive arts, I create culturally responsive spaces for reflection, creative discovery, and personal insight.

My work focuses primarily on adults, particularly Black women, while also offering group creative experiences for seniors, Black mothers, and youth. As a non-clinical expressive arts service, each engagement is thoughtfully customized to support creative exploration and holistic well-being.
